Brandon Lynn "Birddog" Bergman

Brandon Lynn "Birddog" Bergman

-

We are all here today to remember and honor the life of Brandon “Birddog” Lynn Bergman. Each person in this room has been touched by Brandon in some way or another. He truly left an impact with everyone he met.

Born on October 9,1982 in Kirksville, MO and passed away December 10, 2025, doing what he loved at Hazel Creek Lake. Son of the late James “Peach” Eldon Bergman and Brenda Joyce Mathes Bergman.

Brandon is survived by his son Grady Bergman, Macon MO and two brothers Jim and Kim Bergman, Columbia MO and Jeff Bergman of Kirksville, MO along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, grandparents Roy and Allene (James) Mathes and Harold and Thelma (Forbes) Bergman, along with several aunts, uncles and a cousin.

Brandon was actively involved in all organizations that touched his heart: Delta Waterfowl Hazel Creek Chapter, Moose Lodge and Moose Riders #1751, and The National Wild Turkey Federation (NTWF). He completed his degree from Motorcycle Mechanic School in Phoenix, AZ September 6, 2002 and spent 17 years working at Precision Cycle before making his part time passion into a full time position last year.

He was living the life he always hoped for, using his gifts every day during his time with Newman Farms – who embraced him not just as an employee, but as family. As everyone sits and reflects on what Brandon meant to you, we can all agree that having known him and having him be a part of your life was the greatest privilege ever. To know him was to love him, not to the point where he used the word LOVE out loud, you just knew it by how he treated you. He was an avid lover of all things hunting, dirt bike racing, heavy metal music, sprint car racing and really anything with a danger sign attached. His stories and legacy will remain in our hearts, and we keep his spirit alive by cherishing those memories and saying, when the moment calls for it, “This is what
Birddog would say or do.”

Public visitation will be held Monday, December 15, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with his brother Jim Bergman presiding. Interment will follow the service at East Center Cemetery, east of Kirksville.

Memorial donations in memory of Brandon may be made to Hazel Creek Chapter Delta Waterfowl and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
