Richard Lee Long, 81 of Novinger, MO passed away Friday, November 28, 2025 in his home surrounded by his family. Richard was born on December 31, 1943. His parents were the late Charles and Elva Crawford of Kirksville, MO.

Richard married Linda Baker on December 17, 1977. They were married for almost 48 years. Together they had a blended family of 4 children.

Richard has three sons and Linda has one daughter from previous marriages. He is survived by his children Steve (Shelley) Long of Kirksville, Rob (Mindy) Long of Kirksville, Chuck Long of Kirksville, Gwen (Adam) Gashwiler of Novinger, MO, brother Ronnie Long of Ohio, grandchildren Zach Long, Katie(Mordan) Fetter, Shaylin Long, Nathon (Abi) Pickett, Blake Gashwiler, Trey (Linsay) Gashwiler, Corey (Erika) Nichols, Christopher (Jessica) Nichols, 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Bennettt, brother John Long, and daughter in law Nicole Long.

Dick spent over 40 years in the auto body industry. He worked many years for Loren Hatfield Body and Frame as well as the owner of Thrifty Body Shop, and co-owner of Long’s Auto Body. Near retirement Dick and Linda were the owners of Good Old Days Antique Mall. Dick often attended auctions and yard sales where he delighted in finding treasures. Dick loved attending the extracurricular activities of his grandchildren whether it be a ballgame, theatrical performance, or a rock show.

It was Dick's wish to be cremated and his family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from noon to 2:00 p.m. and will be followed by a Memorial service at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Darrell Crooks presiding.
