Joy Christy (Beerbower) Garr

-

Joy Christy (Beerbower) Garr was ushered to Heaven on October 5, 2025. Welcoming her to Heaven was her Mother and Father, Barbara Beerbower and Donald Beerbower. She was also ushered in by many family and friends, and all the dogs she had loved over the years.

Left behind to carry on her legacy are her two sons: Jamie Garr and Derick Garr, her granddaughters: Felicity Garr and Sayde Garr, her Grandson: Asher Garr, many family members and special friends Peggy Hettinger and Sondra Garr. From her sons: Mom was well known and treasured by many people. She worked various places in her life from the original shoe factory to Northeast Regional Medical Center. What is important to remember was mom’s legacy. She never met a stranger and could always be counted on for a kind word or hug. It was mom’s hope that everyone would treat one another with kindness. Understand that everyone’s journey is different, but helping a stranger or a heartfelt smile goes a long way. Mom was always there to help celebrate the triumphs of life, and there to offer a shoulder to cry on when someone needed that support. If mom’s legacy was anything, it was this: Love with all of your heart. Tell those that you love just how much you love them. Say it often and never leave doubt as to your feelings. Family is what you make of it. Remember that some people want to be a part of your family, and some choose not to. Forgive when you can, and learn to let go of what you cannot change. If someone hurts you, it’s okay to let them go. If someone loves you, they will show that. Remember that your words speak volumes and to always be kind and considerate when you use those words, even in anger. Lastly, never take a single day for granted. Love fiercely and take each day as a precious gift. Enjoy your time with everyone and everything. And breathe.

A visitation will be held at Travis-Noe Funeral Home on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family asks that instead of flowers, that you consider a generous donation to the Adair County Humane Society. Mom loved each and every one of her rescue pups and knowing that more of those pups were being cared for would absolutely warm her heart. Donations can be mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, PO Box 306, Kirksville, Mo. 63501
