Mary Jane (Shanight) Overstreet, 94, formerly of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Aspire Senior Living in Moberly, Missouri.

Mary Jane was born the daughter of Zelma (Birchett) and Willis Shanight on January 23, 1931 in Ethel, Missouri. On March 23, 1953 Mary Jane was united in marriage to Jimmy Overstreet in Brookfield, Missouri who preceded her in death on October 15, 2023. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn, Gwen, and Barbara; and her mother and father-in-law, Sylvia and Harry Overstreet.

Mary Jane is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda Overstreet of Moberly, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mark Kachadurian of Commerce Township, Michigan; four grandchildren: Amanda (Matt) Colvin of Fayette and Chase, Harry and Cole (Sara) Kachadurian all of Michigan; two great-grandchildren, Mikel and Olivia Colvin of Fayette; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane was a graduate of Ethel High School with the Class of 1948. She worked for Grim-Smith Hospital, Hollister, Inc., and for Kirksville Regional Center before retiring.

Per her request, no services will be held. Inurnment will take place at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri at a late date. Arrangements were taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville, Missouri.
