Parnell Irene (Miller) Babcock, 86, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Natzke) Miller, she was born May 28, 1938 in Waverly, Iowa. She was also preceded in death by her brother Douglas Miller.

Parnell is survived by her husband Terry Babcock of Novinger, MO; her two children and their spouses James and Valerie Beenken of Maynardville, TN and Susan and Rex Arthur of Searsboro, IA; three step-children Peter Babcock and Daniel Babcock both of Novinger, MO, and Tamara Babcock of Trenton, MO; one brother and sister-in-law James and Shirley Miller of Waverly, IA; one sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Phil Spiedel of Mt. Pleasant, IA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Parnell was a registered nurse in Kirksville, Missouri for many years. She loved taking care of people, camping, canoeing on the river, riding motorcycles, and her favorite thing was butterflies, but most of all she loved time spent with her family and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with cremation following the service.
Family will receive friends on Saturday for one hour before the service starting at 10:00 a.m.

Memorial donations in memory of Parnell may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

Aunt Parnell - thank you so much for being part of my memories, for loving me and my dad. I am sorry we are not able to be with the family during your service but I'm choosing to focus on the joy that you are in no more pain and you are celebrating with our Savior, Jesus Christ! I will see you again.
