Arthur Alvin Jeffries, 81, of Queen City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Life Care Center in Brookfield, Missouri.

The son of the late Carl Alvin and Edith Matilda (Peterson) Jeffries, he was born December 30, 1942 in Sperry, Missouri. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Leon Jeffries; and one sister, Leora Sandefur. On August 28, 1965 in Kirksville, Missouri, Arthur was united in marriage to Rebecca Lynn

Arthur is survived by his wife Becky of fifty-nine years; one daughter and son-in-law, Traci and David Walker of Queen City, MO; and one granddaughter Jamie Walker of Nashville, TN.

Arthur attended Olive Hill School and then went on to graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1961. He worked many jobs throughout his lifetime. These included a can milk route, for Solar Gas Co, as a security guard for Pinkerton Security Co, as a patrol officer for the Kirksville Police Department until being promoted to acting Chief of Police, twenty-four years for a contract mail route, later for Heetco Gas Co, then for Harris Safety Service, and was last employed ten years as Deputy Sheriff of Schuyler County until his retirement in 2016.

Arthur enjoyed target shooting, was a member of NRA, and was a member of Kirksville Masonic Lodge. He got most enjoyment out of meeting people and making them laugh.

It was Arthur's wish to be cremated and no service be held at this time.
