Evelyn Beatrice (Wilson) Bragg, 101, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Born October 20, 1922 in Greentop, Missouri Evelyn was the daughter of the late Earnest Elias and Armeda Delroe (Gates) Wilson. In November of 1950 Evelyn was united in marriage to Abner Bragg who preceded her in death on September 5, 1975. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Fitch; five brothers, Layton, Roland, James, Robert, and Raymond Wilson; and one sister, Elaine Lay.

Evelyn is survived by two sons, Rob Bragg of Kirksville, MO; Jack Bragg, D.O. and wife, Jocelyn of Columbia, MO; one daughter Lora Smithy and husband Rick of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Vernell Wilson of Kirksville, MO; five grandchildren, Brett (Kassi) Jones, Matthew (Kelly) Jones, Maegan (Mike) Gatorna, Elyse (Taylor) Burks, and Tom (Laura) Bragg; nine great-grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Adair County where she was the Circuit Clerk from 1975 to her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed playing cards weekly with her friends, working crossword puzzles, was a great cook, and loved time spent with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was a member of Eastern Star, P.E.O., Shrine Club Jewels, and her life was committed to Christ, being a devoted member of the First Christian Church of Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024 with family receiving friends for one hour before the service at the First Christian Church in Kirksville, with Pastor Tim Polley presiding. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Brett Jones, Matthew Jones, Mike Gatorna, Taylor Burks, Tom Bragg, and Mike Waddle.

Memorial donations in memory of Evelyn may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and may be left at the church or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
