Charles Lewis Daniels, 70, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024 at his home in Kirksville.

Born June 6, 1953 in Kirksville, Missouri, Charles Lewis was the only son of Charles Junior and Verneta (Nations) Daniels. Charles was preceded in death by his father Charles and his sister, Sandra Karen Martin.

Charles is survived by his mother, Verneta Daniels of Novinger, MO; his sister, Sherl Venzor of Novinger, MO; his brother-in-law, Danny Martin; a niece, Sami; nephews Philip, Bill, and Mike; his next door neighbor and good friend Rick Belzer; great-nieces and great-nephews; and a multitude of cousins.

Charles attended Green City and Novinger public schools. He served in the Army until his honorable discharge. Charles also helped on the family farm, worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory, and other jobs. An injury sustained while working at one of his jobs left him unable to work.

Known as Charlie to those who knew him best, he enjoyed reminiscing and spending time with family over a good cup of ice cream. Charlie never knew a stranger and never forgot you once he met you.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024 with family receiving friends before the service for one hour in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home. Raymond Magruder will officiate the service and interment with military honors will follow the service at Pratt Cemetery south of Novinger, Missouri.
