Charles "Everett" LaCost, 85, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Everett was born in Bethany, Illinois on April 7, 1939 the son of Charles Albert and Anna E. (Cowell) LaCost. He graduated from Findley, Illinois High School with the Class of 1957. Everett served in the United States Army National Guard and honorably served in Vietnam a total of eight years.

Everett was united in marriage to Beverly Marie Miller in July of 1959. To this marriage was born Cydni Marie (Junior) Morrow and Kristine Ann Delaney. Everett was engaged in farming most of his life. He also enjoyed his venture into cable TV in central Illinois and northern Missouri. He had a great loved for fast cars, flying, and antique automobiles; they were a great part of his well-lived life. Another great joy was forming and coaching the Mustang Baseball team. Both his practice field and pitching machine were extensively used by many local teams.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, David Paul Shaver.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly of sixty-five years, two daughters, Cyndi Morrow and husband Junior, and Kristine Delaney all of Kirksville, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sherry LaCost of Pilot Point, TX; his grandchildren, Charles William LaCost, of Kirksville, MO, Rachel (Devin) Warrington of Perry, MO, Jessica Delaney and special friend Jacob Comer of Troy, MO, Jacob Delaney and fiancée Lillian Callahan of Troy, MO; his great-grandchildren, Keagan LaCost and Addison LaCost both of LaPlata, MO and Harper Warrington of Perry, MO; as well as a niece and a nephew.

A private memorial will take place at a later date in the Marrowbone Township Cemetery in Bethany, Illinois. Arrangements were taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
