Oscar Junior Mason, 93, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
The son of Oscar Gillum and Beulah Alice (Lewis) Mason, he was born May 14, 1931 in Kirksville, Missouri. In addition to his parents, Oscar was preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn Rosalie Truitt, Mary Lou Robb Bass, Norma Jean May, and two brothers, Robert Gilliam Mason and Clifford Eugene Mason.
Oscar is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Mason and Terry Mason both of Kirksville, MO, and Michael and Joyce Mason of Brashear, MO; two daughters and a son-in-law, Debbie and Garnett Peek of Kirksville, MO, and Samantha Heaton of Unionville, MO; two brothers, Ronald Floyd Mason of Kirksville and John Lee Mason of Moberly, MO; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Oscar received his education in the Kirksville public schools. In 1968, Oscar opened his plumbing business (Mason Plumbing) and was a master plumber which he loved doing for many years. He also enjoyed mowing and the great outdoors.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2024 at North Salem Cemetery in North Salem (Linn County) with Sam Burkholder presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Oscar may be made to his son, Jerry Mason and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
