Ray Eugene Sizemore, 74, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

The son of the late Albert Edwin and Velma Marie (Bachman) Sizemore, he was born April 19, 1950 in Stahl, Missouri. On June 8, 1973 in Kirksville, Missouri, Ray was united in marriage to Deborah Lynn James.

Ray is survived by his wife Deborah of fifty-one years; two children, Mindy Atkins of Kirksville, MO, and Michael Sizemore and wife Joan of Kirksville, MO; his siblings, Pansy, Holly, Robbie, Donna, Randy, Nina and Rose Sizemore; his grandchildren, Brandon Sizemore and Mercedez Jones; and his great-grandchildren, Hayden, Kyley, and Wyatt Sizemore.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Roy, Rod, Bucky, Sue, and Ivy Sizemore; and two grandchildren, Autumn and A.L. Atkins.

Ray worked for the City of Kirksville Public Works Department from March 1978 to June of 1980. Ray returned to the City of Kirksville in May 1982 and was a full time equipment operator in July of 1982. He retired on October 1, 2010 after serving the City of Kirksville and its citizens for thirty years and six months.

Ray loved to play golf, play cards and drinking Pepsi, but most of all Ray loved time spent with his family and grandchildren.

It was Ray's wish to be cremated and his family will receive friends to celebrate his life from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
