Joanne Aboud passed away on her 89th birthday, Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

Joanne was born to Oral and Goldie (Davis) Sallee on July 16, 1934 in Adair County. Joanne was united in marriage to Joshua Shoop on April 6, 1952; then, to Dr. George Aboud on August 2, 1960.

Joanne is survived by her companion of 43-years, George Richardson; daughter, Carol Daugherty (Tom) of Kirksville; one son, Ric Aboud (Nancy) of Spring Valley, California; daughter, Jeana Aboud (Diana) of Lamont, California; two grandchildren, Tracy Novinger (Jonathan) and Tim Berry (Shelby); five great grandchildren, Cadence Billington (Brittney), Alexis Hamilton (Jackie), Emily Berry-Daugherty, Landon Berry and Averi Berry; and three great-great grandchildren, Makenna Fehr, Judson Hamilton and Valynn Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Kenneth and Dean Sallee; and two sisters, Norma Flower and Bengia Byers.

Joanne moved to Kirksville in 1992 from Phoenix, Arizona. She spent most of her life caring for people. She enjoyed babysitting her great grandchildren and caring for her pets.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Chaplin Carrol Davenport presiding. Burial will follow the service in the Mary Immaculate Catholic Cemetery in Kirksville.

The family will receive friends for one hour before the service starting at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
