Sallie Ann Martin, 77, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the La Plata Nursing Home in La Plata, Missouri. Her body was cremated and a Celebration of Life is planned for a later date.

Sallie was born January 18, 1946, the daughter of Jesse Dean and Betty (Ogden) Leverett. On January 1, 1967, she was united in marriage to Robert “Mike” Martin in Bowling Green, Missouri, who survives.

Sallie is also survived by two sons, Philip Martin of Kirksville and Jeffrey (Melanie) Martin of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Daly and Luke Martin.

Sallie was born and raised in Middletown, Missouri, where she lived until her family moved to Bowling Green, Missouri in 1963. Following marriage, she and Mike lived in Washington D.C. for two years before moving to Kirksville, Missouri where she lived for 53 years. Sallie worked at Kirksville R-3 Schools for 29 years where she served as the secretary for the primary schools, finishing her career at Kirksville High School. Sallie enjoyed reading, taking drives and any activity with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dennis Leverett and Edward “Ted” Leverett.
