Ronald Celian, 72 of Kirksville,MO passed away on August 12, 2021 at Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and his daughters.
Ron was born to Paulo Messina and Wanda Celian on January 24, 1949 in Rome, Italy. When he was 2 1/2 years old his mother brought him to the United States where they resided in Chicago, Illinois.
On December 9, 1969 Ron was united in marriage to the love of his life Lynette Sue Webb. He volunteered to serve with the United States Army in Vietnam until 1970 and was awarded the distinguished flying Cross and the Purple Heart. Ron worked at the Kirksville Police Department for 30 years and retired February 4, 2011.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents.
Ron is survived by his wife of 51 years Nettie Celian, his two daughters Buffie Celian(Dale) of Quincy, IL, Melanie Johnston (Brent) of Kirksville, MO, 8 grandchildren Chelsea Sergent(Jarrod), Sydney Snyder, Shelby Brennan, Jackson Snyder, Maggie Davis, Megan Wait (Ethan), Allison Johnston, and Gracelyn Johnston, 3 great grandchildren Leightyn, Grayson, and Brenlynn, and many in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Ron enjoyed cooking he was famous for his Italian beef and dumplings, photography, tinkering in his shed, riding his Harley Davidson and especially spending time with his family and his dogs.
He was very much loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Public visitation will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
Graveside services with Military Rites will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
