Bud Childers, 83 of Novinger, Missouri passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday June 9, 2021.

The Son of Curtis L. Childers and Henrietta Evans Childers-Jacques, he was born December 18, 1937 in Novinger, MO. He was united in marriage to Joan Booth, the love of his life, who preceded him in death July 1976. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two Sisters Mary Jo Hardesty and Darlene Childers and a long-time companion June Connor.

Bud is survived by three children, Pam Pflum of Gibbs, Tise Frazier of Kirksville and Chuck Childers of Novinger; two brothers, Donald Childers of Novinger, MO, and Barney (Toni) Childers of Pittsburg, MO. Grandchildren, Brandy Pflum and Willie Pflum both of Gibbs, Heather (Tyson) Halley of Novinger, Jasmine (Travis) Woolston of Kansas City, and Jaydon (Travis) Heuer of Kirksville, as well as his longtime friends Dave Pierson and family. He is also survived by thirteen Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Bud was a lifelong resident of Adair County and was a 1957 Graduate of Novinger R-1 Schools. He was a skilled fork-lift operator and employed by McGraw Edison, MFA Feed Mill and lastly employed by Donaldson’s, Inc. where he was a proud representative for the UAW.

In years past, Bud enjoyed picking his guitar, hunting, fishing, following the St. Louis Cardinals, and spent much time camping with his family and extended families, the Roans and the Hatchers. He was a small man with a big heart and many names. Whether you called him Bud, Buckshot, or Bucky one thing for sure is you called him “Friend.”

The family will receive friends Friday June 11, 2021 from 12:00-2:00, Funeral Service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Alan Coonfield officiating. Interment will follow the service at Novinger Cemetery.
