Jim Ray Maize, 85, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at The Pines in Kirksville.

The son of the late Harley and Helen (Cook) Maize, he was born April 4, 1935 in Kirksville, Missouri. He was also preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Ray Maize Jr.; by one sister, Gerry Hamilton and husband Marion; by one brother, Harley "Bub" Maize, and by a half brother Jack Benshoof.

Jim is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tim Jay and Debbie Maize of Kirksville, MO and one grandson, Chad Maize also of Kirksville, MO.

Jim was a graduate from Kirksville High School. Jim was the owner of Maize Painting and painted most of his life. He was also at one time employed by Northeast Missouri State Teacher's College now (Truman State University).

Jim was a past member of the El Kadir Shrine Club of Kirksville.

It was Jim's wish to be cremated and no service be held. Arrangement were taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
