Richard "Richie" Dean Roan Jr., 63, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Born June 3, 1956 in Kirksville, Missouri, Richie was the son of Richard Dean and Shirley Beverly (Peavler) Roan Sr. On August 11, 1989 in Kirksville, Missouri, Richie was united in marriage to Wanda Robinson.

Richie is survived by his wife Wanda of thirty years; his mother, Shirley Roan of Novinger, MO; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dallas and Danielle Roan of Shelbyville, MO, and Dustin and Meagan Roan of Novinger, MO; two daughters and a son-in-law, Crescent and Eric Smith of LaPlata, MO, and Caschelle Smith of Springdale, AR; one brother and sister-in-law, Scottie and Marla Roan of Novinger, MO, one sister and brother-in-law, Sandi and Marty Martin of Novinger, MO, his eight grandchildren, Nikiah Smith, Keaton Roan, Amelia Smith, Beau Smith, Miley Roan, Sofia Smith, Ollie Hinkle, and Dickson Roan, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Richie was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dean Roan Sr.

Richie was a graduate from Novinger High School with the Class of 1974. He worked at farming and helped many other local farmers, drove a truck for Harvey Rogers, and worked for Gail Scott. Richie also opened the coffee shop in Novinger so he could visit with his friends.

Richie loved to help others, always lending a helping hand. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, sitting in his garage visiting with people who came by and always found the good in everyone.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Sheila Swafford officiating. Interment will follow the service at Novinger Cemetery in Novinger.

Family will receive friends on Friday, June 28, 2019 from noon to service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dallas Roan, Dustin Roan, Scottie Roan, Keaton Roan, Bobby Withrow, and Marty Martin.
