Jinnie Lynn (Hunsaker) Clay, 70, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Her love for her family and Christ gave her strength and courage. She took peace in knowing that she would be with Jesus forever.

The daughter of Hubert and Mae (Linger) Hunsaker, she was born July 10, 1948 in Weston, West Virginia. Jinnie was united in marriage on March 14, 1965 to Larry Eldon Clay Sr., who preceded her in death on September 23, 2015.

Jinnie was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Katherine Gee.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Clay Jr. and wife Terri of La Plata, Missouri, Russell Clay and wife Angela of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Bryan Clay and wife Katie of La Plata, Missouri; two sisters, Deaonna Crowe and husband Mickey of West Virginia and Carolyn Opfer and husband Donnie of Florida; seven grandchildren, Tyler (Kristen), Travis (Katy), Adrienne, Austin, Addyson, Henry, and Hayden; four great-grandchildren, Rylea, Keegan, Lawrence and Nolan; and many nieces and nephews.

Jinnie attended the Kirksville Public Schools. She was an active member of the New Hope Methodist Reform Church in Millard, Missouri. Jinnie treasured her opportunities to serve at the La Plata Public Library and Christian Ministries in La Plata. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed decorating and crafting. She shared her passion for the outdoors and gardening with her family. Her candies and baked goods are legendary. Jinnie enjoyed watching the annual Little League World Series and collecting Hallmark Christmas ornaments. Above all else, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, Missouri, with Pastor John Davison presiding. Burial will follow the service in the Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Public visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. until service time Monday, October 1, 2018 in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Clay, Travis Clay, Robert Becker, Edward Becker, Mark Shen, and Tim Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Clay, Hank Gonnerman, and Drew Lock.
