Rosamond "Marie" Moots, 72, of Gibbs, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 at the LaPlata Nursing Home in LaPlata, Missouri.

Marie was born July 30, 1946, nine months after her dad returned from WWII, in Richland Twp in Macon County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Jessie Owen and Rosalie (Mason) Moots.

Marie is survived by her daughter Amanda of Gibbs, MO, honorary son Justin P. Mulford of West Sacramento, CA, her four siblings, Joyce Barber of Kirksville, MO, Tom Moots of Kahoka, MO, Susan Parsons of Kirksville, MO, and Jack Moots of Gibbs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, a host of friends, and her rabbit Runt E. Rabbit.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; two nephews, many cousins and friends as well as her rabbit Thumper J. Rabbit.

Marie attended four room schools: Maple Grove, Willow Branch, Bryant and Prairie Bird before the family moved to Gibbs in 1959 when she finished 7th and 8th grades. She then attended Brashear where she graduated in 1964.

Marie was self employed for decades and could do just about anything. She was an amazing woman and role model.

It was her wish to be buried without any fuss which was carried out August 31, 2018 at Green Castle Cemetery in Green Castle, Missouri under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
