Velma Eileen (Collins) Reynolds, 94, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Kirksville Manor Care Center.
The daughter of Luther F. and Minnie Mable (Culler) Collins, Velma was born July 4, 1923 in Novinger, Missouri. On June 3, 1946 in Atchison, Kansas, Velma was united in marriage to Duane Reynolds who preceded her in death on April 28, 1956. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son Randy Reynolds, and two brothers, Mervin Collins and Loren Collins.
Velma is survived by her long time neighbors and friends, Beverly Wait McElhinney and family; a sister-in-law, Margaret Winkleman of Greentop, MO; one nephew, Jack Winkleman of Kirksville, MO; one niece, Linda Boutinghouse of Greentop, MO; as well as special care givers, Earlene Knocke, Loujean Hindman, Marilyn Wait, Jody Gerstley, Megan Johnston, Emma Peterson, and Glenda Garman.
Velma resided most of her life in Adair County and attended the Mullberry rural school. She worked many years as a seamstress for Sieren's Palace and clients around the area. Her life was devoted and shared with her son and they enjoyed extensive traveling throughout their years.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Jim Pitney officiating. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2017 for one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Wait, Kevin Wait, Ethan Wait, Michael Stone, Cliff Rogers, and Jack Winkleman.
