Margaret Cecelia Poston, 92, of Kirksville, Missouri, died Saturday (March 18, 2017) following a short illness.

Margie was born on June 29, 1924 Northwest of Knox City in Knox County, Missouri. She grew up on the family farm Northeast of Edina, the younger daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Weber) Clote. On October 29, 1951 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, John Robert Poston, who preceded her in death February 15, 1992. Also preceding her in death were her parents, sister Anna Marie White, and brother-in-law Patrick White.

Surviving are one son Bobby Poston, daughter-in-law Beth Poston, two grandsons Dillon and wife Monika Poston and Travis Poston, and granddaughter Katy Poston all of the Kirksville area. One brother-in-law Richard Poston of Baring, MO, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Margie received her education at the Crim Rural School in Knox County, graduating from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Edina, having achieved the "I Dare You Award". She was first employed at Wells Lamont Glove Factory in Edina and later at the Iowa Ordinance Plant in Burlington, Iowa. In 1945, she went to Los Angeles, California, where she was employed at Van De Kamps Holland Dutch Bakery for 5 years. While there, she attended Glendale Business College in Glendale, California. In 1950, she went to Quincy, Illinois, where she was employed as Sales Audit Clerk in the office of Block & Kuhl Department Store until her marriage. She then become employed in the Credit office of Montgomery Ward in Kirksville where she worked for twelve years.

She retired in 1963 when her son, the joy of her life, was born. She spent her remaining years as a homemaker, caring for her mother, an aunt, and helping the elderly. She was very devoted to her family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking pies. She loved having yard sales with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life.

She was a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Kirksville, The Altar & Rosary Society, Young At Heart, RSVP, Missouri Citizen's Right to Life, and The Friends of St. Mary's of Adair, MO.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday (March 21, 2017) at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Kirksville with Father Colin Franklin presiding. Visitation will be Monday (March 20, 2017) from 6-8 p.m. with Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Adair, MO.

Pallbearers will be: Dillon Poston, Travis Poston, David Poston, Kevin Gregory, Dan Gordon, and Jim Baker.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Katy Poston, Monika Poston, Charles Giovannini, Donald Baker, Jack White, Larry White, Mike White, Bill White, Donald White, Patricia White and Pam Gordon.
