Daniel Eugene Lonberger, 64, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday (October 27, 2017) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Born June 3, 1953 in Kirksville, Missouri, Daniel was the son of Franklin Pierce and Dorothy Jean (Jackson) Lonberger. On October 18, 2008 in Kirksville, Missouri, Danny was united in marriage to Gemma Madara Abejuela.

Danny is survived by his wife Gemma of the home; his father, Frank Lonberger of Kirksville, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Jonathon Shelby of Columbia, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Treda and Michael Moyer of Springfield, MO; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Franklin Hughes Shelby, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy, one brother, Sam Lonberger and one nephew, Tyler Lonberger.

Danny was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1971. He trained many dogs throughout his life and lived to serve others working in group homes with developmentally challenged.

Danny loved Blue Grass and Country music, target shooting, hunting, cutting wood, riding mules, being outdoors and had a great love of children.

Danny was a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church of Kirksville.

Danny's wishes were to be cremated and his family will receive friends Thursday (November 2, 2017) following a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday (November 3, 2017) at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Kirksville, with Monsignor David Cox presiding.
