Rusty Eugene Ruggles
-
Rusty Eugene Ruggles, of Kirksville, Missouri, went out in true Ruggles' fashion at home on September 6, 2016, at the age of 57. He was born March 27, 1959 in Kirksville, Missouri to Elmer and Ruby (Rouse) Ruggles.
Rusty was united in marriage to the love of his life, Angie Fuller, on September 14, 2002. They quickly combined their families. Rusty believed he gained three sons that day, as well as Angie gaining three daughters. They often joked they were the Brady Bunch in reverse.
Survivors include: his wife, Angie Ruggles of the home; his mother, Ruby Ruggles, of Kirksville, MO; three sisters, Rhonda (Ruggles) Jenkins and husband Bill, of Kirksville, MO, Debbie (Ruggles) Corrin, of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Darla (Ruggles) Jaynes and husband Jeff of Joplin, MO; three daughters, Angie (Ruggles) Green, and husband, Kyle, of Jefferson City, MO, Candy (Ruggles) Golian, and husband John, of Hannibal, MO, and Megan Ruggles of Kirksville, MO; and three sons, Jesse Fuller and wife Kathy, of LaPlata, MO, Steven Wills, of Kirksville, MO, and Michael Wills of Columbia, MO. Rusty also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Rusty was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts and uncles. His father, Elmer Ruggles and his mother-in-law, Sherry Fuller passed away in 2015.
Rusty had a very strong faith in God. He attended Meadow Brook Christian Church, where he was a member of the board. He was raised in Novinger, Missouri, at the top of the Connelsville hill. He graduated from Adair County R-I Novinger in 1977. Rusty had a love of the outdoors and spent many hours fishing, camping and hunting, as well as being an avid NASCAR and Cardinal baseball fan. He loved to sing and did so every chance he got.
The family would like to express their great appreciation to Hospice of Northeast Missouri for their excellent care of Rusty.
