Letha F. (Snowbarger) Leutung, 85, of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, (June 15, 2016) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.
Letha was born January 10, 1931 in Queen City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Sherman and Lula A. (Aldridge) Snowbarger. On November 20, 1976 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Letha was united in marriage to Merrill W. Leutung who preceded her in death on December 13, 2010. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Wabel and Betty Osborn and one nephew, Jay Osborn.
Letha is survived by two stepchildren, Stan Leutung of Kansas City, MO and Cheryl Fleming of Eugene, OR; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Kathy Crandall and Kenneth and Teri Crandall all of Brashear, MO, and Vancil and Dana Crandall of Higginsville, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Roberta and Floyd Waddle of Fayetteville, N.C., and several nieces and nephews.
Letha was a graduate from Kirksville High School. She was employed for the City of Kirksville until moving to Columbia, Missouri to make her home.
Letha enjoyed attending Dinner Theaters in Kansas City with her husband before his passing, enjoyed the sport of bowling many years traveling to a number of tournaments, loved going to casino's, and was an avid MU baseball and football and Cardinal baseball fan.
While residing in Kirksville, Letha was a member of Women of the Moose.
Public visitation will be held Saturday (June 18, 2016) from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. (June 20, 2016) at the Lutheran Cemetery in Salisbury, Missouri, with Reverend Kent D. Pierce officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Campus Lutheran Church of Columbia. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
