Richard Lee Sullivan, 64, of Eldon, Iowa, passed away Monday (May 16, 2016) at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, Iowa.

The son of Jesse and Maggie (Abbott) Sullivan, he was born May 7, 1952 in Kirksville, Missouri.

Richard is survived by two sons, Chris Sullivan of Sikeston, Missouri, and Scott Sullivan of Carterville, Illinois; one daughter, Marla Hayes of Eldon, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Donna Stewart of Kirksville; two brothers, Bill Sullivan of Kirksville, and Roger Sullivan of Jefferson City, Missouri; one sister, Carolyn of the state Washington; and eight grandchildren, Ryleigh, Kyleigh, Alyssa, Natalie, Montanah, Avin, Jude, and Amelia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jesse Sullivan Jr.; one stepdaughter, Bonnie Jean Stewart; and two aunts, Stella and Mary.

Richard lived most of his life in Kirksville. He was a member of the Kirksville Loyal Order of the Moose Club. Richard loved spending time with his grandkids and cheering on his Kansas City Chiefs.

A public visitation will be held Friday (May 20, 2016) with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

It was Richard's wish to be cremated with a family interment service at a later date.
