Patricia Ann (Rourke) Johnson, 78, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday (August 6, 2015) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Phillip and Reva (Smith) Rourke, she was born March 29, 1937 in Edina, Missouri. On March 25, 1960 in Edina, Missouri, Pat was united in marriage to Larry Don "Butch" Johnson who preceded her in death on April 22, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one half-sister, Trudy Eddy.

Pat is survived by one son, Steven Johnson of Kirksville, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Gena and Bill Briggs of Kirksville, MO; three grandchildren, Angela Welte, Kelly Aldridge and husband Rex, and Jacob Briggs; and six great-grandchildren, Briar, Alaena, Zacharyah, Maggie, Myah, and Colby.

Pat was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1955 and went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Education at Kirksville State Teachers College. She taught History and Social Science at Kirksville High School from 1962 to 1980. Pat worked at Village 76 several years until going to work for the Missouri Department of Unemployment where she was employed a number of years until retiring.

Pat enjoyed music, dancing with her husband Butch, Cardinal baseball, her flower beds and she will be remembered for being a great cook.

She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter #824 and member of Kirksville Church of the Nazarene.

It was Pat's wish to be cremated and a memorial service to honor her life will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday (August 11, 2015) in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Interment will take place at a later date at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
