Kevin Daniel Baiotto, 61, of Kirksville, Missouri, lost his battle with a malignant brain tumor Tuesday (July 28, 2015) at his home.
The son of William M. "Bill" and Myra E. (Evans) Baiotto he was born March 24, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri. On December 27, 1975, Kevin was united in marriage to Carol Casper.
Kevin will be greatly missed by his wife Carol of the home; his mother, Myra Baiotto of Kirksville, MO; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Barry Baiotto of Kirksville, MO and Steve and Donna Baiotto of Raytown, MO; children Theresa Baiotto and husband Hans Flinch of Jackson, WY, Bert Baiotto and wife Stephanie of Denver, CO, Andrea Baiotto Dorris and husband Jeremy of San Diego, CA, and Leah Baiotto of Columbia, MO, and four grandchildren, William Baiotto, Giana Baiotto, Jurnie Dorris and Peyton Dorris.
Kevin graduated from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1972 and Northeast Missouri State University in 1977. Since returning to Kirksville in 1984, Kevin worked at Hollister Inc., the University of Missouri Extension Center and Telecommunications Resource Center, and Mary Immaculate Catholic Church.
He contributed to the Kirksville community through the Rotary Club, Forrest Lake Area Trail System, Community Emergency Response Team, NEMO Triathlon, Kirksville Bicycle Club, and YMCA.
Kevin will be remembered as an avid supporter of his children's activities. He traveled to attend their sporting events and often served as an official/judge and timer. He had a passion for adventure and athletics. Kevin completed 18 triathlons and 2 marathons. He enjoyed spending time at Thousand Hills State Park on the lake and water skiing.
Catholic Prayer service will be held 6:30 p.m. Sunday (August 2, 2015) with family receiving friends following from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Catholic Newman Center at 709 S. Davis St. in Kirksville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday (August 3, 2015) at the Catholic Newman Center under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville. Interment will follow Mass at Mary Immaculate Catholic Cemetery in Kirksville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forrest Lake Area Trail System or to the Kirksville Catholic Newman Center. Memorials may be left at the Newman Center or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO.
