Melisa Anne (Small) Mock, 44, of LaPlata, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Friday (October 9, 2015) at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

The daughter of Roger and Gertrude "Anne" (Lapham) Small she was born October 7, 1971 in Ft. Riley, Kansas. On September 11, 2000, in Kirksville, Missouri, Melisa was united in marriage to Jeffrey Mock.

Melisa is survived by her husband Jeff of the home; her father Roger Small and wife Pam of Kellogg, IA; by her dad Leland Paul VanHoose and wife Debbie of Kirksville, MO; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Rodney Cooper of Marshalltown, IA, Bobby and Gara Small of Cedar Rapids, IA, Eric and Tracy Daugherty of Gifford, MO and Robert Baker III of Cedar City, UT and Scott VanHoose of MO; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Angie and Melvin McKim of Brashear, MO, Christy and James Collins of Kellogg, IA and Kellee and Kellen Koll of Omaha, NE, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Anne VanHoose, whom she dearly loved and missed. Melisa is now reunited with and walking through the gardens of Heaven with her.

Melisa was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1990. She was employed for Twin Pines Adult Care Center since 1991.

Melisa loved spending time with her family and her dogs, watching movies, crocheting and helping friends.

Public visitation will be held Wednesday (October 14, 2015) from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday (October 14, 2015) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Grogg officiating. Music selections will be provided by Melvin Bissey.

Melisa will be cremated following her funeral service.
