Naomi Frances (Lunsford) Allen, 94, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday (September 8, 2014) at Grandview Health Care in Washington, Missouri.
Naomi was born January 16, 1920 north of Green City, Missouri, the daughter of Lemvel F. and Gladys (Kelly) Lunsford. She was united in marriage to Wayne D. Allen on November 27, 1940, who preceded her in death on January 10, 1991.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Judith Colleen Ferguson on November 2, 1990, two brothers, Virgil Lunsford and Gordon Lunsford, and one sister, Mabel Bonebright.
Naomi is survived by her granddaughter, Laura Ann Gildehaus and her husband Ricky of Washington, MO, several nieces and nephews, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Naomi and Wayne lived on the same farm for 46 years where they farmed and raised Registered Angus Cattle. Later they moved to Kirksville, on account of Wayne’s health.
Naomi received her education in the Victory rural school. She worked several years at a factory in Milan, Missouri.
She dearly loved her family and friends and was always willing to help in any way she could.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday (September 12, 2014) at Green Castle Cemetery in Green Castle, Missouri, with Pastor Ralph Wheeler officiating. Family will receive friends on Friday for one hour before the graveside service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
