Vera Lucille (Pipes) Talbert, 93, of Green Castle, Missouri, passed away Saturday (August 30, 2014) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Charles and Elva (Bunch) Pipes, she was born February 19, 1921 in Novinger, Missouri. On November 6, 1943, Vera was united in marriage to Roy E. Talbert who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; two brothers, and two grandsons.

Vera is survived by two sons, Ronald Clubine of Sibley, MO and Larry “Peevine” Pipes of Green Castle, MO; two step sons, Reverend Thomas Talbert and wife Glenna of Ealia, MO and Roy Eugene Talbert and wife Judy of Belle Plains, KS; one step daughter, Beverly Ann Cushman and husband Bob of Warrenton, MO; one sister, Burnice Butler of Green City, MO; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren.

Vera resided most of her life in Adair and Sullivan counties. She was employed a number of years at Hollister, Inc. in Kirksville. Her hobbies included quilting; gardening, playing Bingo and she loved animals.

It was Vera’s wish to be cremated and no service be held.

Her family will receive friends during a public visitation which will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday (September 20, 2014) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Interment will follow the visitation at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
