Franklin Ellis Collop, 63, of Brashear, Missouri, passed away Friday (May 16, 2014) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The son of Ellis Rual and Virginia Lucille (Kellison) Collop, he was born September 7, 1950 in Kirksville, Missouri. In 1976 in Edina, Missouri, Frank was united in marriage to Vicki Pinson.

Frank is survived by his wife Vicki of thirty-seven years; his mother, Lucille Collop of Kirksville, MO; one son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Stephanie Collop of Parkville, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Mike Erwin of Brashear, MO; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Mike and Cathy Collop and Fred and Sandy Collop all of Kirksville, MO, Chris Collop of Brashear, MO and John and Cindy Collop of Columbia, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jim Wright of Macon, MO, and six grandchildren, Henry and Isabelle Collop, and Carson, Cole, Cade and Cannon Erwin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Collop.

Frank was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1968 and went on to receive his BS degree in Education at Northeast Missouri State University.

He was a life long farmer and raised cattle. Frank often told people his hobby was work. He loved planting crops and working with his cattle. He also enjoyed collecting John Deere and Oliver toy tractors.

Frank served on the Adair County RII School board nine years (six years as president), was chairman of FSA County Committee, was a board member of MFA (Oil/Exchange) and currently was President of the Emery Keller Trust Estate.

He was baptized on May 7, 2008.

Frank was very loved by his family and friends. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. He loved taking them in the ranger to check cows. They will dearly miss their “Pops”.

Public visitation will be held Monday (May 19, 2014) with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (May 20, 2014) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Reverend Paul Milliken officiating. Interment will follow the service at East Center Cemetery, east of Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Terry Mack, Dave Clark, Tom Primmer, Jim Winkleman, Albert Zentz and Gary Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Ambrosia, Al Erwin, Rayburn Snell, Dr. Ferrel Moots, Kenny Crandall and Jerry Thomas.
