Doris Opal (Haines) Dierling, 94, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday (April 7, 2014) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.
The daughter of Noah and Lula (Cassidy) Haines, she was born November 20, 1919 in Unionville, Missouri. On November 25, 1937 in Queen City, Missouri, Doris was united in marriage to Dewey Raymond Dierling who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Olin and Kennith Dierling; one brother, George Haines and a son-in-law, Bill Williams.
Doris is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol Williams of Kirksville, MO and Amber and Olen Hall of Livonia, MO, and a total of forty-one grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
Doris attended the Worthington rural school. She resided most of her life in Downing and Lancaster until moving to Kirksville to make her home fifteen years ago.
Doris loved to travel, flowers, gardening, fishing and was an excellent cook. She also painted and made beautiful quilts.
She loved her family and enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.
Doris was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church of Kirksville.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday (April 10, 2014) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Charles Jackson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Bethel Cemetery near Glenwood, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be Chris Williams, Josh Williams, Kent Dierling, Dewey Dierling, Mike Dierling and Adrian Starbuck. Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Thursday (April 10, 2014) for one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
