Franklin Dee Mills, 57, of Fairfield, Iowa, formerly of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Saturday (March 22, 2014) at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

The son of Franklin D. and Phyllis Helene (Shilling) Mills, he was born March 25, 1956 in Lawton, Oklahoma. On March 26, 1988 in Lancaster, Missouri, Franklin was united in marriage to Joyce Steele.

Frank is survived by his wife, Joyce of twenty-five years, of Fairfield, IA; three daughters, Tabitha Mills of Kirksville, MO, Emily Mills of Austin, TX and Tiffany Koenig of Mansfield, OH; two brothers, Steven Mills of Princeton, MO and Arthur Mills of Greentop, MO; three sisters, Lucille Smith of Kirksville, MO, Cindy Dolbeare of Shelbina, MO and Debbie Furgason of Kirksville, MO, and eight grandchildren, Micheal Steele, Katie Steele, Ray Steele, James Mills, Alisha Mills, Dakohta Steele, Shiann Koenig, and Ethan Koenig.

He was preceded in death by one son, Bryon Steele.

Frank was a graduate from Bucklin R-II High School. He served in the United State Army. He resided in the Winigan area until 1991, when he moved to Fairfield, Iowa to make his home. Frank last worked for Tony Adrian on his farm in Fairfield.

He enjoyed tinkering with lawn mowers, camping, hunting, and fixing up old tractors, and loved to fish.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday (March 27, 2014) at Southside Baptist Church in Kirksville, with Pastor Aaron Rogerson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Price Cemetery in Winigan.

Family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 p.m. service time on Thursday (March 27, 2014) at Southside Baptist Church on Burton Street in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Steven Mills, Arthur Mills, Kevin Howard, Brian Breen, Leslie Mills and Tony Adrian.
