Cora Mae (Fowler) Lile, 92, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday (February 25, 2014) at Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Orville Alford and Ruby Mae (Collop) Fowler, she was born July 31, 1921 in Sperry, Missouri. On March 30, 1938 in Kirksville, Missouri, Cora was united in marriage to John Lile who preceded her in death on October 7, 2007.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother Leroy Fowler in infancy, and one brother-in-law, Paul Hill.

Cora is survived by one daughter, Carol Rexine Lile of Kirksville, MO; two sisters, Arlene Hill of Brashear, MO and Jolene Eastin and husband Richard of New Braunfels, TX; two sisters-in-law, Mary Copeland and Freda Early both of Kansas City, MO, and several nieces and nephews.

Cora attended school in Sperry and Greentop. After her marriage to John Lile, they moved to a farm near Sperry where they mostly farmed, raised hogs, and milked cows until retiring in 1993, moving to Kirksville. After retiring, Cora and John enjoyed traveling.

Cora was a member of the Sperry Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday (March 2, 2014) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Bob Price officiating. Music selections, “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow” and “Precious Memories” will be provided by Melodie Sevits who will be accompanied by Dianthe Cable, organist. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Caleb March, Doug Hill, Todd Hill, Chance Hill, Lonnie Salter and Rick Eastin.
