Susan (Walker) Montgomery, 61, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday (October 5, 2014) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Kenneth “Carlyle” and Ruth “Shirlene” Harden Walker, she was born April 13, 1953 in Kirksville, Missouri.

Susan is survived by her mother, Shirlene Walker of Kirksville, MO; one uncle and aunt, Jim and Mary Harden of Macon, MO, and two cousins, Dr. Jeff Harden of Kirksville, MO, and Sara Chandler of Warrrensburg, MO.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carlyle Walker on May 22, 1998.

Susan was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1971, attended four years at Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO and received a Masters degree from MU in Columbia, Missouri. Susan taught French and English a number of years at various schools, including four years in Kuwait. She enjoyed books and was an avid reader.

Susan was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Kirksville.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday (October 9, 2014) at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, with Dr. Jeff Harden officiating.

Arrangements are being taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville, and no public visitation will be held.
