Iris Mae Cleeton, 84, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away at Willow Care Center in Hannibal, Missouri, where she had resided several years.

The daughter of Adrian Gail and Pauline (Whittom) Zeigler, she was born August 28, 1929 in Kirksville, Missouri.

Iris is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Vicky Cleeton of Ewing, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jerry Wilhoit of Hannibal, MO; seven grandchildren, Chris (Misty) Cleeton, Carrie (Jamie) Turner, Casey Cleeton, David (Brandy) Wilhoit, Heather (Jeff) Lyng, Hilary (Michael) Edwards and Erin Wilhoit, as well as twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Douglas Cleeton; one daughter, Cheryl Cleeton and one brother, Wayne Zeigler.

Iris was a life long resident of Kirksville, and was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1947. She was employed a number of years at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College as a cook. She was last employed a number of years at Hollister, Inc., receiving three 5 year awards, before retiring.

Iris enjoyed crocheting, traveling, hot air balloon shows and going to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday (September 30, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Michael McCormick officiating. Interment will follow the service at Ownbey Cemetery in Kirksville.

Family will receive friends on Monday (September 30, 2013) one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Casey Cleeton, Chris Cleeton, Jamie Turner, Nick Corbin, Jeff Lyng and David Wilhoit.
