Linda Kay (McCollum) Mason, 67, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (September 25, 2013) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Herman and Nola (Peavler) McCollum, she was born June 23, 1946 in Rockford, Illinois. On April 1, 1961 in Kirksville, Missouri, Linda was united in marriage to Oscar (Junior) Mason.

Linda is survived by her husband, Junior of fifty-two years of marriage; three sons, Mikel Mason and wife, Joyce of Brasheaar, MO, Terry Mason of Kirksville, MO and Jerry Mason of Greenbriar, AR; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Garnett Peek of Kirksville, MO; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ben and Gladys McCollum and Drexal and Shirley McCollum all of Rockford, IL; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ella and Larry Blythe of Jacksonville, AR, Anita and Sonny Pope of Bradford, AR and Patricia Baldridge of Greenbriar, AR; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephew and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leroy, Randall and Roscoe McCollum; one sister, Cytella Mendoza; one grandchild and four great grandchildren.

Linda worked as a waitress twenty-five years. She loved spending time with her family, mostly her grandchildren.

She loved animals and had many of them.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday (September 29, 2013) at North Salem Cemetery near Winigan, Missouri, with Pastor Dave Carter officiating.

Pallbearers will be Terry Mason, John Mason, Joshua Mason, Mikel Mason II, Scott West and Mikel Mason.

No public visitation will be held. Arrangements will be taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
