Roy Lee Roberts, 84, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday (June 30, 2013) at Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville.

The son of Ernest and Goldie (Goodwin) Roberts, he was born December 19, 1928 in Kirksville, Missouri.

Roy is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roger Roberts and fiancée Tina of Novinger, MO and Stephen Lee and Norma Roberts of Olathe, KS; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Janet Roberts of Tucson, AZ, Tracey and David Jacobs of LaPlata, MO and Kelley and John Munn of Troy, MO; nine grandchildren, Rachel Jacobs, David Roberts, Brian Roberts, Justin Roberts, Astin Roberts, Jackie Roberts, Dylan Roberts, Tyler Munn and Lauren Munn, as well as thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Arthur Roy Roberts.

Roy was a lifelong resident of Adair County and was a graduate from Kirksville High School. He was employed many years at International Shoe Factory until retiring due to ill health.

Roy enjoyed animals, gardening, collecting clocks, fishing, hunting, and dancing.

Roy was a very devoted father and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a past member of the Kirksville Moose Lodge 1751 and member of Hamilton Street Baptist Church of Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday (July 3, 2013) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Sheila Swafford officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lutz Cemetery, south of Novinger, Missouri.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday (July 3, 2013) from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Roberts, Tyler Munn, Brian Roberts, Justin Roberts, David Roberts and David Jacobs.
