Lila Irene (Ward) Carter, 68, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Saturday (November 17, 2012) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Omer Paul and Grace Irene (Samm) Ward, she was born March 19, 1944 in Chula, Missouri.

She is survived by one brother, William Ward of Fulton, MO and one sister, Verna Drennan of Kirksville, MO.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and three sisters.

It was Irene’s wish to be cremated and a memorial service to honor her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday (November 24, 2012) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Ralph Wheeler presiding. Interment will take place at a later date at Hull Cemetery near Callao, Missouri.
