Susan Elizabeth (Hammar) Hansen, 57, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed peacefully in her sleep, Monday (October 29, 2012) at her home.

The daughter of Russel Woodrow and Birdie Josephine (Yocum) Hammar, she was born November 17, 1954 in San Francisco, CA. On July 3, 1977 in the Rose Garden, San Jose, CA, Susan was united in marriage to Dean Neil Hansen.

Susan is survived by her husband, Dean; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Jonathan and Rosemary Hansen of Placerville, CA, Jason and Janelle Hansen of San Jose, CA, Daniel Hansen of Kirksville, MO and Andrew and Stephanie Hansen of Kirksville, MO; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Valeta Hammar of Nixa, MO, Jerry and Judy Hammar of Tucson, AZ and Joseph and Barb Hammar of Corvallis, OR; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Michaelene and Don King of Paola, KS and Heidi Cruz of San Jose, CA; three grandchildren, Xylan, Rebekah and Elizabeth Hansen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Susan was a graduate from Camden High School in Campbell, CA, with the Class of 1972. She was a HOMEMAKER in every sense of the word, she was a very devoted wife and mother. Susan had a heart of gold and will be remembered for being a very nurturing person to many and her caring ways will never be forgotten.

Susan was baptized at the age of 13, and she was a devoted member of the Kirksville Church of Christ.

It was Susan’s wish to be cremated and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday (November 3, 2012) at the Kirksville Church of Christ on Pfeiffer Ave.

Her family will receive friends one hour before the memorial service at the Kirksville Church of Christ.
