Murel Jay Osborn, 50, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday (September 16, 2011) at his home.
The son of Kenneth Murel and Betty Louise (Crandall) Osborn, he was born November 5, 1960 in Kirksville, Missouri.
Jay is survived by his mother, Betty Osborn of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Rex Eugene Osborn of Brashear, MO; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Julie Ann and David Snyder of Greentop, MO and Marsha Louise and Ethan Wright of Memphis, MO, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandmothers.
Jay was a life long resident of Adair County and received his education in the Kirksville public schools. He was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan, loved the outdoors and enjoyed the farm. Jay loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was help to many and was loved by all who knew him.
Jay was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Kirksville.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (September 20, 2011) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Robert Fredricks presiding. Interment will follow the service at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.
Public visitation will be held Tuesday (September 20, 2011) one hour before service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be David Snyder, Ethan Wright, Brenton Valentine, Gene Crandall, Kenneth Crandall and Vancil Crandall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jay Osborn Memorial Fund. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
