Rex Henderson Noel, 71, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday (December 27, 2011) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The son of Frank Henderson and Dora Armita (Crabtree) Noel, he was born December 5, 1940 in Adair County, Missouri.

Rex is survived by his long time companion and best friend, Barbara Jane Dupree of Greentop, MO; one son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Sherrie Noel of Frankford, MO; two daughters, Glenna Noel of LaPlata, MO and Melissa Simpson and husband, Jerry Jr. of Kirksville, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Bill Harker of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Josh, Jeana and Ryan Noel; two special grandchildren, Annalee Simpson and Vanessa Snyder, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rex received his education in the Kirksville public schools. Since 1971, Rex was self employed in construction. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, farming, raising cattle and going to auctions.

He was a member of the Illinois Bend Church.

Public visitation will be held Friday (December 30, 2011) after 4:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, and family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday (December 31, 2011) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Reverend Darrell Draper officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Queen City Cemetery in Queen City, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Phelps, Jake Phelps, Dennis Moran, James Snyder, Roy Risher and Wes Wehner. Honorary bearers will be Frank Wayman, Glen David Clark, David Wayne Clark, Jerry Fehr, Dennis Fehr and Jim Hanlin.
