Kitty Ann Murphy, 82, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday (October 13, 2011) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Ira Tom and Ora Alene (Hamilton) Murphy, she was born March 13, 1929 in Putnam County, Missouri.

Kitty is survived by one brother, Harvey Murphy of Kirksville, MO; four nieces, Kristen Hostert of Mokena, IL, Jan Becker and husband Doug of Hudsonville, MI, Dee Ellen Michaelis and husband Michael of Witchita, KS and Jane Banks of Cedar Hill, TX, and two nephews, Michael Murphy and wife Becky of Pontiac, MI and Tim Murphy and wife Mary of White Lake, MI. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James W. Murphy and his wife, Leda Ruth and sister-in-law, Reta M. Murphy.

Kitty was raised in Putnam County, Missouri and was a graduate from Unionville High School. She later moved to the Kirksville area and was employed thirty years for Florsheim Shoe Factory until her retirement.
She enjoyed collecting stamps and figurines throughout the years.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday (October 20, 2011) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Reverend Charles Jackson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Missouri.

Her family will receive friends Thursday (October 20, 2011) from noon until service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
