Lewis Albert David Mountain, 81, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday (September 20, 2012) at the University Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

The son of Delbert David and Nettie Josephine (Sizemore) Mountain, he was born June 26, 1931 in Kirksville, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Margaret E. Eiler who preceded him in death on September 13, 2006.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Alvin Mountain in infancy; one brother, Charles Mountain and one sister, Helen McFarland.

Lewis is survived by three sons, Lewis Mountain of Columbia, MO, Robert Mountain and David Lee Mountain both of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Carolyn Watcher of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Delbert Mountain; three sisters, Betty Hoffman, Josa Belle Mountain and Ethel Pettit, as well as eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Lewis was a life long resident of Kirksville and was employed a number of years for North American Van Lines until going to work for KCOM in the housekeeping department.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday (September 23, 2012) at Forest Lewellyn Cemetery in Kirksville, with Pastor Gonda Manning presiding. Family will receive friends one hour before the graveside service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
