Carol Ann (Johnson) Tilman, 71, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at her home with family by her side.
The daughter of the late Roy Emery and Virginia Nadine Johnson, she was born August 29, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Roy Johnson, and one sister, Onie Hatfield. On June 5, 1971 in Kirksville, Missouri, Carol was united in marriage to Dennis Tilman.
Carol is survived by her husband Dennis of fifty-four years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Justin and Gretchen Tilman of Kirksville, MO, and Nathan Tilman and Rebekah Didlake of Guerneville, CA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Jon Williams of Kirksville, MO, Amy and Andrew Williams of Waukee, IA, and Katy and Cory Hawk of Ottumwa, IA; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and David Childers of Novinger, MO; eight grandchildren, Alex and Annie Williams, Olive, Tucker, and Tate Tilman, Blake, Jayce, and Miles Hawk; one great-grandchild, Alice Hawk; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carol received her education in the Kirksville public schools. She spent many years as a care giver of children in her home. She loved to read, and work word puzzles. Carol was all about family and loved cooking for them. She enjoyed time spent playing cards and games with her children, and her grandchildren as well as attending their ball games and other activities.
She loved the holidays especially Christmas: the baking cookies, the gift giving, the family time, and the annual shopping trip with loved ones.
Her love for red white and blue, and Boyd’s Bears was like no other.
Her wish was to be cremated and a celebration of life in memory of Carol will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Corner Stone Church at 1702 N. Elson Street in Kirksville.
Memorial donations in memory of Carol may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be left at the Celebration of Life or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
