Darrell Leon Koger, 82, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at his home under Hospice care.

Born June 7, 1942 in Kirksville, Missouri, Darrell was the son of the late Paul and Imagene (Hentis) Koger. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Randy Koger. On September 25, 1965 in Mountain View, Missouri, Darrell was united in marriage to Barbara Yarber.

Darrell is survived by his wife Barbara of fifty-eight years; two daughters, Sharri Goodman and husband Andy of Blue Springs, MO, and Pamela Koger of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother, Kelvin Koger and wife Tracy of Kirksville, MO; three sisters, Sharon Loos and husband Lou of Lee's Summit, MO, Donna Fox and husband Jack of Carrolton, MO, and Dulcie Scram of LaPlata, MO; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Daniel) Lewis of Odessa, MO, Jessie Tyrell of Oklahoma City, OK; Corey (Susan) Goodman of Bates City, MO, Natasha (Cody) Middleton of Moore, OK, and Taylor (Alexis) Goodman of North Kansas City, MO; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Darrell was a graduate from LaPlata High School and went to drafting trade school in Kansas City. For many years, Darrell resided in Blue Springs, Missouri and was a supervisor for Hallmark Cards. In 1996 he and Barbara moved back to Adair County to make their home.

Darrell loved wood working and worked with the Missouri Department of Conservation timber management and building blue bird houses that were given to local elementary students. He also did endless projects for his family, friends, and neighbors. Darrell also enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting his own wood, and was a world record holder in drag racing as a young man.

It was Darrell's wish to be cremated and no service be held.

Arrangements were taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
