Annabelle Keller Riley went to be with God on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Born on March 11, 1927 to Irving Samuel Keller and Bernice Bachman Keller of Pennville, Missouri, she was the first born of four children.
Annabelle attended Pennsville's Victory and Boone Hill Rural Schools. She later, in the 1940’s, attended North Central Bible School located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, known now as the North Central University.
As a child, Annabelle liked to play her father’s guitar but her lifelong instrument of choice and love was the piano. She was an accomplished pianist with a fondness for gospel music.
As a teenager during a Pentecostal tent revival in Pennville, Missouri, she dedicated her life to Christ, was later baptized and eventually joined the Assembly of God Church helping in Sunday School and Church services.
Annabelle married her much loved husband Fletcher Clifton Riley on September 15, 1946. They were married by Reverend Charles Rowland who had married Annabelle’s parents as well. They lived in Missouri then Iowa before residing the rest of their marriage in the Kirksville, Missouri area.
She attended Hazel Creek Free Will Baptist Church located outside Kirksville for many years with her beloved husband and family. She worked with the children of the church and in the Women’s Church Auxiliary.
Annabelle was a member of The Gideons International Bible Society serving as secretary-treasurer for a brief time. She was also involved in the Porter School Extension Club and the local 4-H club.
She is survived by her two sons Gregory Thomas Riley(Diane Riley) and Steven Wayne Riley( Lisa Riley), four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Gladys Riley, brother-in-law Dick Sanders and several nieces and nephews.
Annabelle was proceeded in death by her parents, one brother, Sam Keller and two sisters Patsy Keller Gordon and Iris Keller Cafer Sanders.
Funeral service for Annabelle Riley will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Alan Coonfield officiating. Interment will follow the service at Green City Cemetery in Green City, Missouri. No public visitation will be held.
