Virginia Lee (McClaskey) Vestal, 96, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024 at The Pines in Kirksville.

Born September 12, 1927 in Milan, Missouri, Virginia was the daughter of the late Chester Lee and Eula Ellen (Crouse) McClaskey. On February 27, 1946 Virginia was united in marriage to Eugene L. Hannah who preceded her in death. On January 24, 1954, Virginia married Bennie Vestal who preceded her in death on January 12, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Ann Hannah and one brother, Ray McClaskey. who was ambushed while serving in Korea.

Virginia is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry Gene and Sueanna Hannah of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Patricia Lee Simons of Palm Harbor, FL; three grandchildren, Gabriel Simons, Dustin Hannah, and Melody Cristo; as well as seven great grandchildren.

Virginia attended eight years at the Independent Grade School and four years at Green City High School, graduating with the Class of 1945. She took a business course for six months that was equal to two years. She worked twelve years for the City of Kirksville as the municipal court clerk. Virginia enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending time with her grandchildren.

No public visitation will be held.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2024 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Larry Gibson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Green City, Missouri.
