Donald Eugene Tarr, 91, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at Harry S. Truman Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Born January 13, 1933 in Kirksville, Missouri, Donald was the late son of Leo and Marie (Griffiti) Tarr. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Buckler, and one brother, Robert Tarr. On August 20, 1955 in LaPlata, Missouri Donald was united in marriage to Betty Jo Pinson who preceded him in death. He later married Jeraldine Cooper.

Donald is survived by his wife Jeraldine of the home; his daughter, Pamelia (Jim) Leverington of Waterloo, IA, two step daughters, Cindy (Craig) Bowers of Greentop, MO, and Sherry Smoyer of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Darold (Kathy) Tarr of Moberly, MO; two grandchildren, Elaine & Thomas Leverington; five step grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren; as well as two step great-great grandchildren.

Donald was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1951. He proudly served his country in the United States Army with the Armor Division during the Korean War. Donald resided a number of years in Waterloo, Iowa where he was employed for Covenant Medical Center until retiring in 1996. Donald also worked in upholstery for several years.

It was Donald's wish to be cremated and no service be held. He will be inurned at a later in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri, under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville, MO.
