Ladona Kay "Katie" (Harris) Martin, 74, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023 at her son's home in Novinger, Missouri under Hospice care.

The daughter of Ellis Wayne and Margaret Esther (Teater) Harris, she was born February 21, 1949 in Corydon, Iowa. On July 3, 1969 in Novinger, Missouri, Katie was united in marriage to David Lee Martin and to this union four children were born.

Katie is survived by one son Dustin Lee Martin (Julia Connelly) of Novinger, MO; one daughter Sara Marie Risher of Novinger, MO; three brothers Stan Brassfield, Robert Brassfield of Novinger, MO, and Ruben Brassfield (Judy Nussbarn) of Green Castle, MO; four sisters, Ruth Brassfield of Des Moines, IA, Nettie Younger of Mexico, MO, Rebecca Gray, and Mary (Ricky) McKim all of Novinger, MO; two grandchildren, Tristan Risher and Chaten Risher; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Larry and Clinton Martin; three brothers, Jim Brassfield, David W. Harris, and George Brassfield; and one sister, Sharon (Harris) Ellis.

Katie was a graduate from Lancaster High School. She worked in food service at Northeast Regional Medical Center a number of years.

She enjoyed puzzle books, watching the Walton's, and loved time spent with her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023 with Pastor Sam Burkholderd officiating. Family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 p.m. service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Interment will follow at Green Grove Cemetery in Novinger, Missouri.
